The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is one of the most dynamic markets for Italian companies as well as a gateway to other strategic markets. This is shown, among other things, by the trade exchanges that are growing exponentially (8.4 billion euros in 2020) and the prominent position of our country. Italy is in fact the eighth largest trading partner of the UAE and the first among EU Member States.

To accompany Italian companies in the Emirates market, SPICI has launched an information desk to support small and medium-sized enterprises in the implementation of events and promotion projects and the provision of information and assistance services.

In addition, SPICI is coordinating the participation of companies from Italy’s Campania Region active in the sectors of the digital economy at Expo 2020 Dubai and GITEX Technology Week. The Expo scheduled to take place in Dubai from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022 is one of the most eagerly awaited global events in which each participating country will present its excellence in the most diverse sectors of production, innovation and design.

Expo 2020 Dubai will be the first Universal Exhibition to be held in the ME.NA.SA. (Middle East, North Africa, South Asia). It is expected to attract more than 32 million visitors from over 200 countries. The program focuses on 3 themes: opportunities (unlocking the potential of individuals and communities to create a better future), mobility (innovative systems for logistics, transport and communication of people, goods and ideas) and sustainability (accessibility and resilience of environmental, energy and water resources).

Organised as part of Expo Dubai, GITEX (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition) Technology Week is the leading exhibition dedicated to information and communication technologies in the UAE and brings together the world’s technology leaders, entrepreneurs and startups.
