“Innovation China” is an important platform for international collaboration on science, innovation and new technologies. Promoted by the Chinese Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and coordinated by the International Technology Transfer Network, it was established to promote the exchange of international talents, knowledge and expertise.

The platform was established in May 2020 to foster matchmaking between China and foreign countries and to provide a greater integration of innovation resources since it gathers more than 1,000 universities, research institutes and enterprises and nearly 4,000 professionals providing services in the field of science and technology.

More than 50 exchange activities including forums and roadshows are planned in 2021. In particular, the 2021 “Innovation China” Roadshow involved numerous Chinese and international startups, which had the opportunity to present their technologies to an audience of Chinese industry experts and representatives from the innovation ecosystem.

The participation of Italian startups and experts in the roadshow was coordinated by SPICI, in particular during the session held on 6 July in Jiaxing on “Next-Generation ICT”, as well as the session organized on 31 July in Wuhan with a focus on “Health, Advanced Manufacturing and New Materials”, and the session that took place on 9 September in Hangzhou on “Green technologies”.
