During SPICI’s mission in the United Arab Emirates from 17 to 21 October, our team visited the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park. Founded in 2016 by the Government of the Emirate of Sharjah, a science and technology park which counts  multinational companies such as Intel, HP and Nokia.

Located in a free zone, the park was established to promote research and innovation and to support business activities, through collaboration between industry, government and academia.

Our team was welcomed by the Chief Executive Officer of the parc, Hussain Al Mahmoudi, and the Head of Innovation Department, Mourad Mountassir.

We visited the laboratories, offices and research and development centers of the Park, where innovative solutions are tested, including a 3D printed house, a cable car for transporting goods, a cable car for transporting people, and video games transformed into “reality”.
