The Global Internet Competition of “Straight to Wuzhenis a program for entrepreneurship development and scientific and technological cooperation that involves numerous Chinese and international startups.

 

Hosted by the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, the program represents an important part of the World Internet Conference, one of the largest annual events dedicated to the Internet and information technologies which, in past editions, was attended by successful entrepreneurs such as Jack Ma from Alibaba, Pony Ma from Tencent, Robin Li from Baidu and Tim Cook from Apple.

The Global Internet Competition is a one-year program focusing on the digital economy that aims to explore new technologies and business models in this area. It is a key platform for fostering international investment and cooperation on innovative projects between China and global companies.

The participation of Italian startups and experts in the Global Internet Competition was coordinated by SPICI.
During the 2020 edition,  Italian startups Circle Garage, SoftMining, Edugo.AI and Else Corp stood out among some of the most innovative companies in Europe, especially SoftMining which was selected for the semifinals. The 2021 edition included the participation of the Italian startup  Experenti, which was the only international startup qualified for the final.
