Spici is a design and development workshop for innovative digital solutions, offering ‘integrated’ technological and consulting services, with an open innovation perspective, to meet the needs of public and private customers and open up to a global dimension.

It operates as a hub for innovation as an international accelerator and centre for business attraction, entrepreneurial development, technology transfer and internationalisation for SMEs, start-ups and university spinoffs.

The company is promoted by a pool of academics, scientists, managers – internationally renowned personalities, innovators who have often anticipated trends in the economy and technology – and international companies, leaders in their fields.

Its mission is to contribute to the revitalisation of the Italian industrial system, focusing on digital transformation and offering innovative products, applications and services to Small and Medium Enterprises and the Public Administration.

Areas of operation

SPICI’s priority areas of operation are the Cultural and Creative Industries and the Green Transition, with a specific focus on the Digital economy, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Cybersecurity.

Advanced Training

Another area of specialisation is advanced training in new technologies, promoting academies and working with specialised academic centres.

Spici Tech Hub

To enrich the offering, Spici is developing its own proprietary platform SPICI Tech Hub, a system of advanced services for business and PA, a semantic search engine, which, through AI algorithms and machine learning systems, allows in-depth profiling of customers, and performs advanced matchmaking activities, identifying potential partners and business contacts.

Scientific and Technological Cooperation

It designs, programmes for regions, cities and other public bodies and, thanks to the experience of its founders, also manages intergovernmental programmes for scientific and technological cooperation.

Smart Cities

The topic of innovative, smart cities – urban areas in which, thanks to the use of digital technologies and technological innovation, infrastructures and services to citizens can be optimised and improved – is another of the company’s areas of interest, with projects being implemented in Italy and around the world.

Corporate and Social Responsibility

Spici pays particular attention to corporate social responsibility through programmes targeting the Euro-Mediterranean context and Africa, relying on its digital skills and scientific diplomacy to build and strengthen dialogue and international cooperation, enhancing the great resource of southern Italy: young people, cities, the university system and research.
