Experenti, the only project from Italy which participated in the 2021 Global Internet Competition of “Straight to Wuzhen” – “Industrial Internet”, won the “Excellent Prize”. The projects aims to develop Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality solutions for B2B clients.

The “Straight to Wuzhen” Global Internet Competition, is an important part of the World Internet Conference organized annually and which previously invited business tycoons such as Jack Ma from Alibaba, Pony Ma from Tencent, Robin Li from Baidu and Tim Cook from Apple to explore the future of Internet.

The competition is organised by the Economy and Information Technology Department of Zhejiang, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Tongxiang Municipal People’s Government, Zhejiang Internet Information Office and Jiaxing Municipal People’s Government. It is coordinated by SPICI on Italian side.

The 2021 edition of the competition, held in September, included five thematic competitions, namely Consumer-Oriented Internet, Industrial Internet, Artificial Intelligence, Integrated Circuits and 5G Applications. Each comprised three stages: a preliminary online competition, followed by an intermediary stage and the final.

This year, the competition has attracted 1,012 projects from 19 countries, including China, the US, UK, Italy, France, Canada, etc. The international projects focused on the fields of basic technology research, industrialization, model innovation and development, etc. Numerous selected projects were “quasi-unicorns” in their industry, with high quality, industrialization degree and market prospects.

The highly qualified jury of the competition was composed of 83 senior experts from various fields from the institutional, academic and industrial worlds. After 78 days of evaluation, there were only 35 final winners selected.
