Participate in the China Overseas Talents Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition 2023, the international platform where Chinese and foreign companies operating in the scientific and technological field present their high-tech products and solutions, gaining the opportunity to start their business activities in China.

This event represents the European stage of a global competition and is promoted by SPICI in collaboration with Innovup and Lazio Innova. It will be held in Rome on September 15, 2023, at the San Filippo hall of the Congregation of the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri at Santa Maria in Vallicella (Piazza della Chiesa Nuova).

The Rome event will feature the participation of 30 companies from Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom, with 20 Italian companies in person and 10 foreign companies remotely. Ten companies will be selected to participate in the Final Competition in China in the autumn of 2023, with numerous networking opportunities.

 

The Competition

The China Overseas Talents Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition 2023 is an annual competition organized by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and local Chinese governments, aimed at creating an international platform where Chinese and foreign enterprises, talents, and innovators operating in the scientific and technological field can present their high-tech products and solutions.

Since 2016, the Competition has attracted more than 2500 innovative enterprises and projects from around the world, with some of the most innovative solutions benefiting in terms of visibility through their participation, accessing facilitated finance instruments, and obtaining a privileged channel to start business activities in China.

The competition thus represents a valuable opportunity for internationalization in China and to expand business activities in the Chinese market.

The 2023 Edition

The 2023 Edition will revolve around the theme “Share the Development, Create the Future” and will initially be structured into 12 events (e.g., American Division, South-East Asian Division, Asian-Pacific Division, Nordic Division, etc.) organized in different parts of the globe (including Rome, Chicago, Singapore, Tel Aviv, and Helsinki), all leading to the Final Competition to be held in Anhui Province, China, in the autumn of 2023.

The Competition in Europe is coordinated by the International Technology Transfer Network (ITTN) with SPICI Srl – Society for Innovation, Cooperation, and Internationalization, in collaboration with InnovUp and with the support of Lazio Innova.

 

The European Competition

The European Competition will be organized in Rome within the second half of September*.

The program expects the total participation of 30 enterprises from Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom, with 20 Italian companies participating in person and 10 foreign companies participating remotely.

During the Competition, each company will present its high-tech project and/or solution to a jury of highly qualified experts from the business, research, and finance sectors, with a short pitch in English.

The event will also offer a networking opportunity aimed at strengthening the contact networks of the participating companies, who will be able to engage with an interesting array of interlocutors present.

At the end, the jury will declare the 10 finalists who will access the Final Competition, to be held in China in the autumn of 2023.
